hup I'm behind. We'll go recent to oldest, because blogger wanted to update that way!

I've been working on a possible webcomic to do after Final Arcanum (trying not to get TOO ahead of myself) and am playing around with the concept of commissioned, inter-dimensional treasure hunters. I have loose ideas of the main cast (four characters) and a few working titles, including "Hunters" and "Avant Garde." Nkiru is part of infiltration in the main cast, and is a shape shifter. Don't have much set for the universe yet, but I know Shapeshifter's always have inverted-colored eyes. (HUP and I'm not even sure if the comic is colored yet.) I have to do a little more work on her, but for the most part I think she's set in stone.
I'm already biased and kinda loving Yori a lot. He's Intel, 4' 1", and over 500 years old. And super smarmy. Fffff so excited for him. He's so much fun to draw.

My goal for Hunters/Avant Garde/Something is to make characters that I really enjoy drawing and love. It means I have a lot of work in store for me, but I think it'll be worth it. That and I've got time.
FINAL ARCANUM SKETCHES YAY. Working on some later in the story concepts. The only problem with doing that is I want to draw the characters like that now. Gaaah Kite I can't wait until you change your hair.

March Sketchas

I redesigned Chaim awhile back, but I think I finally settled on liking it. Now I just have to remember he's a good 6 feet tall. Hup.
AAAAAAAANGST IVER, AAAAAANGST. I like this sketch, just for the imagery, but I need to tweak his posture some more. We don't need "durp durp heart in my hand." It needs to be more "AAAUGH WHYYYY" amirite?
While Xandrei visited, we made new D&D characters (for better or for worse) and I created a mimic psion-telepath named Niko. Still tweaking her design but so far so good!

A bunch of us discussed who our characters in Empires Clashing would be from Alice in Wonderland. I'm not a huge fan of Alice, but the imagery is always cool. Have a hatter!Desch. 8D; There are so many problems with this, however, I doubt it's going anywhere. xD
More Ananke redesign - Yedimyze is far north, so why wouldn't he take advantage of fur fashions? The guy has gold coming out of his ass for pete's sake.

Character Designs + Redesigns

Now that Zero and Kite finally appeared, I needed to flesh out their new costume designs. Their original designs were done over two years ago. I reaaally like the improvements.

And I've finally fleshed out my character for this quarter's World of Darkness - Hunter game, aka - Dallas Evans. A few concepts have been on the blog before, but this is the finalization of everyone's favorite one-armed hoodlum. Obviously I've been watching the Boondocks so much. A+ show though.

Ha ha ha aaaand Dallas by the END of the games. Faeries do some weird crap, man. 8D; I'm really hoping I'll get the chance to play him again.

I wasn't a fan of Ananke's old design, and after re-writing his character history and fixing plot holes, I found something that make sense.

Speaking of Ananke (and the underground Western Court that he happens to run), Callum's a top-notch spy, and kinda awesome. More of him to come? Perhaps!

Savannah Sketches

I went down to Savannah, GA to visit some friends of mine, and ended up doing a massive amount of sketching. So here's to sharing? xD I'll definitely have some beginning of school sketches going up sooner as well.

First is a new mage character of mine, Salvatore Malcare, the leader of the Scions of the Blind Seer in Nilarion (Rachel's world) who is an evil and scary man. This is why I don't make magic users! They end up able overpowered somehow and ridiculously frightening. Sal has massive amounts blood and mind magic soooo... yup. He'll be interesting to play if I get around to it.
Sketcha from an RL log. Somehow Jonan and Avidan get along really well, minus the fact that Jonan is trying to explain that the party has demon problems and Avidan thinks he's just a crazy, superstitious old man. HUP that'll go over well with the rest of the group.
Jacob and Katal. (Katal is our villain who is a being called a World-Slayer. Name kinda says it all. durp.) BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH.
I've been revising Selam a bit more, who takes up his place as a lord in the Rothfelt house of Khemar. Rothfelt and Thaydin... kinda get along I think?

Iver is also sad and tired sometimes. He should sleep more. 8(

And to the bottom right is Iirer's holy symbol. It frightens me! This means I've done well, bwhahaha.

Top is of Alter and Avidan, being drunk elves. Doesn't get much better than that, actually. I had some dialogue for this head scene but HUP it disappeared along the way.

Bottom is more Katal, and more Avidan probably ruining things for the party. I'M SO GOOD AT THIS YOU GUYS.

This is actually an old sketch I never shared with the world, save Zimmay. Gotta love normal Desch-Jasperisms. Why do I always end up playing characters that annoy the other characters in some way or another?

Haha, more spam for you guys! I did this concept of Leander back in August and never uploaded. Leander, brother to Variance (Xandrei's character), both of which are Vampeyr's of Nilarion, except Leander's a little... ADHD. 8D;
Fuu's chitlins. Daaw. I'm almost finished coloring this, just haven't gotten to it yet. u_u From top-right to left bottom, they are Pon, Yin, Mei, and Xun. (What's with Lenzians and three letter names?)

Spam Desu

Sorry for not posting in so long everyone. It's been quite the hectic semester, BUT HERE. Have angst from the Rising Legions session last night. Nazjwa was unfortunately kidnapped (much to Fuu's horror) but came back to us! Just... not very healthy. WHUPS.

Costume redesigns for chapter 2 in FA~ I actually really like them. Acacitli looks more his age for one, and Mael and Iver look more... professional? Does looking more like a thief (in Iver's case) count?


Rachel, our DM for Empires Clashing and Rising Legions is running a World of Darkness: Hunter the Vigil game in the winter while half our D&D group is studying in France. I'm working on character designs and am so torn. xD (Also enjoy that Desch sketch that squeezed in there~!)

FA p1x18 Preview

After a lot of bouncing between styles and experimenting, I may have finally found the end result style for Final Arcanum. That only took 18 pages, but the characters finally look alive!

Acacitli Splash Image

Sketched this today at work and based it off of this old image. I plan on making it the splash image for the FA site until I get pages up. (Lots and lots of buffers to do first though~)

Materials Test

I've been having a lot of difficulty deciding how I wanted the lineart to look for the comic, but ended up deciding to use pencil (as seen in the third image.) The first was a try in Adobe Illustrator, and the second in Photoshop. I would've gone with Photoshop if it wasn't as time consuming. As nice as it looks, I wouldn't be able to keep up the pace along with the rest of my workload.

Desch done for a warmup sketch gone so-so wrong. At least now we all know what he'd look like if he were evil.
